It was another day at work for Arnold, who was busy managing his crew. They were installing stainless steel wall panels in the kitchen area of PARQ Casino, located in the heart of downtown Vancouver, BC, Canada.
The contractors who hired him needed the work completed by the end of the day. New kitchen equipment was scheduled for delivery and installation first thing next morning.
Operations were running smooth when suddenly work stopped. “What’s going on?” he asked. It turns out, the lead-installer had cut his hand while trying to hang sheet metal on the wall. He was the only certified welder on-site, and was unable to keep working that day. Any further work stopped and the deadline was missed.
Why did this happen? He took his gloves off because they ripped and were falling apart. Even though he started using a brand new pair at the start of the day, they were low quality and fell apart quickly. He felt more comfortable working with his bare hands. Unfortunately the metal slipped and cut his hand.
It was this day that sparked the idea in Arnold’s mind. Provide durable high quality work and safety products to get the job done right, and to get it done safely.
